MY HEART

well its been a while since I've built something out of Lego simply cos i was waiting to buy more pieces and those pieces turned out to be pieces i normally dont use very often cos I'm so use to using basic bricks.but will see what i will build next..hmmm..should be interesting.. :D,stay tuned...

so today i wanted to have a go at building a 3D heart since i thought it was the simplest. It went OK....took me an hour so not long...even thou i couldn't build it properly i don't think it was a big challenge....i shall go for something complicated and creative next time.what do you guys think?like the heart?

comments= good for me :D

Art studio

well, for the past few days i been thinking that i should really make a little art studio so i can have the space for paiting and storage.I asked my auntie if i could use part of her loft and turn it into sum sort of small art studio and she said she was fine with it,so i been busy cleaning it all up and making space .This is now where the magic happens for me..:D..im very pleased!

Took me forever to figure out how to put the easel together but got there in the end and thats the Bristol picture standing..wich i still havent touched since saturday..but will start on it again as soon as i get my Bristol pictures developed.
Theres not a lot of space or much of natural lighting but im easily pleased and its good enough for now.
Getting hands dirty is so rewarding when you see the final outcome :D The pic below is the storage where ill be keeping everything such as paints, book, canvas etc..

bristol's first coat

here all my paint brush collection..i think i have 54 so far..in my opinion...you can never have enough paint brushes or paints..:D.i tend not to go to art shops so often as i will stay there for a good few hours and spent LOADS of money...so unless i want sumthing then ill go but very rare.
the pics below are waterolours that im currently using to paint the bristol picture...

well, finally started to paint the picture..this is the only the first coat..so the colours your seeing wont be in the final picture....i tend to use a lot of water on my picture...so gotta let it dry completely b4 the paper goes all funny and starts bending....i havent finished first coat yet..as it is A1 size and still dunno how to mix realistic colours...as the art i like is more flamboyant so this is different for me,but i think its looking O..K.-ish...but cant wait to see the final outcome.

lego house

This is my lego house that i built by the book....took me ages to build...but nice eh?...kept it for like 2 months until i finally had the heart to take it all apart...wich is is great cos now i got LOTS of lego..yipee!...i dunno why i dint take it all apart before cos i have the book to it so i can always build it again and in fact i can make 2 different houses...but i stopped building sets.hmm...wonder what i can create with all those pieces now...

bad pics again..sorry

Bristol rough sketch

this is the picture of bristol bridge that i have been currently working on..just finished sketching it.....dunno if you can see...i dint draw hard with the pencil since its a rough sketch and will be painted in watercolour shortly when i have the time...i personally think its going to take me a while to finish this picture as like i said.....im not very good with landscapes/townscapes.....especially with mixing the colours to get the correct colour...so will be a challenge for me and will learn some new techniques as ill keep painting, but i think the final result should be good if it goes well and i put my 100% effort...and if its good....ill put it in my porfolio :D
this wasnt the most easiest sketch to do AT ALL....purely cos theres so much detail and you have to get the proportions right.....im such a perfectionist!!!..if its something that i do...it has to be good or else..nothing...its not a good thing but it is..at least ill be proud in what i do...being a perfectionist isnt so bad.....i think.... :S..hehe..
what i tend to do is...if its not going to well...ill leave it for 2 days or 3 and then come back to it and it doesnt seem as bad as it was 3 days ago...
the picture is actaully one of my own that i took when i was in bristol...as you can tell....
artists when they sketch or paint a bridge they normally love to draw the landscape around it and such....but in mine...its concentrating on the beautifull architecture wich of course is the bridge!

sorry for the pictures not been well taken....the pencil was to faint for the camera to cacth it...so had to put more contrast.

being creative

well today i decided to play with my lego and see how creative i could be......and it turned out im not as creative as i thought, all my models are very basic..nothing rocket science about it...even a kid can do better than me.....i need to buy a hell lot more lego for me to build something that i will ACTUALLY be proud of...... .
i can see a HUGE..bricklink order comming up..hhmm....XD

so here are my basic designs.....none of these are built properly ....their all very poor models and fragile cos i dint have enough quantity of the same lego piece or colour.
you can notice it STRAIGHT away....(the apple one is the worst).....im really crap with lego at the moment...i need to buy more sets and find out how to do it properly

i decided to build doraemon as he is one of my favourite manga characters....isn't he cute?...:D althou my version of lego isn't as great as it could be.....

SUPER MARIO!!my favourite game of ALLL TIME....use to play it when i was a kid.....really wish i could still play the game...hm.m..guess i need to buy nintendo DS...

this one is crap...dunno why....but i think purely cos i dont think it looks like winnie the pooh at all....but at least i made a good attempt... :S..sort of...

more lego... XD

today,i also made this crappy looking rose.,....theres only so much i can build using plain basic bricks...i proberly could of made it better if i had more pieces and knew about how to put bricks together..sounds stupid i know... but it would make a difference....
slowly by building things that are basic im teaching myself how to make something else..if that makes any sense..;P

LEGO!..:D

well, this is ME!..was born in venezuela(caracas)..spanish speaking moved to madeira(portugal isnland) when i was 6. portguese speaking..then moved to england when i was 9 and learnt english, french, mandarin chinese, japanese and now cantonose chinese..so...i apologise for my bad english..:P...im not fluent in any language anymore..:(..only bits and bobs..

now..theres something else i love doing either than drawing, painting etc...and that is being creative with lego cos thats art to me....influence of a friend, thats how i got started.im a complete fan of nathan sawaga who is a lego artist..geniuus!!..his work is honestly just amazing..and so is also sean kenney..i take off my hat to them....
lego itself has improved so much in the years. and its aimed for everyone....you can get all these themed lego such as star wars, indiana jones...its awesome!!althou thats something i dont buy unless theres pieces i need,i always tend to go for the city type....im not going to start and tell you the history of it all cos my english and knowlege isn't good enough. :P
before i use to buy sets to build and go by the book...but now i buy sets for pieces.so i always look on the side wich shows you wich pieces are in the set and how many..the bad thing about building a set with me is once i build it i dont want to break it all up again wich is pointless..so i try to avoid it and make my own creation.
also theres a site called bricklink wich im fund of...cos i can get all the pieces i want seperately and colour...wich makes a life much easier...althou it aint the easiest site to use and im slowly starting to remember names of bricks..so its easier to try and find the piece i want.
im making a small challenge for myself at the moment,im going to try and make a small lego man, wich isnt going to bad at the moment...im just choosing pieces that i will need or maybe use...but once i have a rough idea how it all will come together ill post it another day.

pic above are just basic bricks i brought in a box,it only has 650 pieces.all sorts of different colours

pic above is my *pick a brick* from when i went to bluewater.

pic above is the lego that my friend gave me.

this is sumthing i created today,i have no idea wat it is...i just put bricks on top of eachother and i came up with this...to me it looks like sum sort of tree...if i had different shades of green and different sizes of bricks i think it could look more like one...BUT i love it cos its so colourfull..i would love to make a much bigger version of this..i know its not very creative...i am a beginner after all...so i cant expect to much from myself.
To make it look like sumthing i created a little scene.

Fresh start for 2010

after seeing my friend's blog i decided to make one of my own.
since its the biggining of 2010 ill start off by saying *happy new year* and all the best :D

well, one of my new years resolution is to go back to my art work since i havent touched a pencil for the last 3 years,so dont know how good i am,im so out of practice.

i havent done anything recently, but im working on a watercolour painting of the suspension bridge in bristol.reason for doing bristol bridge is cos i began to love the city seeing as i have visited recently last year in november and loved it.very beautifull architecture, lot of culture etc..just genereally a really nice place that i like to visit when i have the chance.so ill start off my artwork beginning with bristol and visiting the art galleries over there.so im looking forward to it.

i suck at drawing landscapes and townscapes,i need a lot of improving so im starting in what im least gd at.
ill post the painting once its finished, havent really started it yet, just done a rough sketch so far.
but i have some artwork that i have kept from when i studied at langley, BTEC art and design foundation(something like that). ...i covered 3D design, graphics, drawing, fine art, textiles and fashion. a bit of photography and GCSE ceramics..wich i wasnt good at..but nevermind..

im new to blogger and this first post is not going to make much sense as im struggling to put the pictures in order and it keeps deteling them..:(..haii!!!

this was made in class and yes he is a real naked man that had to pose for us,he kept falling asleep bless him..lol..however..this painting i love cos its FULL of colour and its not like a picture image where its all perfect and everything, its more about creativity,go a bit wild and not afraid to make mistakes.to make this painting i got red, yellow and white paint,i put nut sized amount and got a small piece od thick card and scraped it down the page and kept adding colours as i continued, this gave a nice effect.to paint the man i used a lot of acrylic paint and kept adding layers and layers of paint and dried paint to make it thicker and make it stand out a bit more...you can see a closer picture of his chest if you scroll down nearer to the bottom of the page...the light is cooming from the right hand side as you can see, thats where all the white paint is.

this painting was done at home on my free time..quite while ago,i used inks and used a black fine liner to draw with...these horses were actaully on a scarf,it caught my eye cos u can see the horse from all different views...sorry im not good at taking pictures :S

the painting below is a varse of flowers painting in a van gogh style using acrylics.it was done at home, back in the days when i had the motivation to draw all the time...its all gone now..:(
i particular love and big fan of van gogh's artwork style cos he uses a lot of colour and mixing and different brushstrokes in different direction wich makes the painting very effective. this sketch below was done in class i used charcoal..very rough sketch just to get the shape of the figure and obvious shadows

here he is again, sitting on a stool holding an easel, used pencil, same thing...just to get the main proportions right and shadows.i like this sketch as its simple and real life....althou as you can see im really bad at drawing straight lines when it comes to drawing....but who says art has to be perfect..:P..ART can be anything you want it to be.

this is a close up of his chest,i used all sorts of colours to mix
NOW this was my final piece on my last year at college wich i got a distinction for, wich im proud of but i dont think its that good looking at it now...it was meant to be...japanese art mixed with 60's and 70's fashion....both ideas dont work to me but teacher thought it was a great idea...to make things more confusing i decided to make a salwar kameez.wicch is a traditional clothing that the indian girls wear, the real salwar kameez is 11 metres and its wrapped around severeal times...so it had also a hint of indian fashion in my project..so my final piece is 2metres of plain white silk fabric,used..gold and black outliner, fabric inks and hot wax...this took me FOREVER and took the whole table in the class as i needed the space and couldnt move it after it was all done.so what i had to do is use 2 metres of drawing paper and draw the image with black pen..and lay it down on the table and then lay the silk on top...so the drawing below it was like tracing paper wich helped me to draw on the silk.so started from one end to another..the tricky bit of all was using the hot wax...you get this special tool wich is small like the size of a pencil but at the end...it has this little bowl opening wich helps to scoop up the wax and it has little fine tap on the bottom to help draw fine with it...but sometimes it gets stuck ..so i tried and drawing it a bit roughly and wax spills on top of silk...wich you cant remove...or paint on...so you have to have patients and be carefull. and as for the outliner i put it into squirting tubes so it was very easy to use after all was done,i used fabric inks to add colour...after its all dried out....i had to melt the wax. so i had to iron the silk and have paper on top so it can absorb the wax and then it was finished..HOORAY!!

black outliner with lots of ink colours to make rainbow colours..giving the 70's style.

this both picture is a close up of the hokusai's wave using wax.it was very difficult to draw with it.

the pictures below is the whole of the salwar kameez in bigger picture.

leave comments and tell me what you all think,it will be most apreciated it :D :D
